The MKII wagons can be pretty cool if you do them up a bit. They come with a number of different motors.
I've seen 1GEU, 2Y, 1C? (diesel anyway).
Is it manual or auto? Look at the rectangle aluminium build plate on the firewall. Post everything that it says so we can work out what you have/ suggest what you could do.
If it's manual - lots of options. It will probably have a W55 or a W57 gearbox. They are strong and will take anything you want to throw at it.
There are lots of different bellhousings that will bolt onto either of these gearboxes. G bellhousings fairly common, S bellhousings fairly common, M bellhousings not common, T bellhousings not common.
Depending on your budget
1GEU - 93kw
1GFE - 100 - 120kw
1GGE - 112kw
1GTE - 139 - 157kw
1GZE - 126kw
3SGE - 110 - 150ish kw
3SGTE - 135 - 190ish kw
5MGE - 125kw 2.8L
7MGE - 142kw 3.0L
7MGTE - 170 - 200kw
3TGTE - 120kw
Work out what your budget might be and let us know so we can suggest something.

Just put a 1GGE in there. Nice usable power and torque with economy. They sound especially nice with filter and exhaust.

Well i have around 3k, i could allways save more but it helps when you know hwo juch you got to save for, ya know.

Its not reall that much lol.

Petrol engine
Its a 2y and a manuel, yeah ther geerbox looks pretty big too.

I have a feeling ill need to do something to the suspention, its a bit too soft too. Just some new springs should do the trick id say.

I found that http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Pit/ ... ngine.html has lots of pretty usefull info, juat haveing a little read of it.

I guess id want a engine around the 2ltr mark that is force inducted, a turbo preferably. So i can still drive around with the revs low anjd it not boosting to save fuel
