3sgte rwd conversions - clutch assembly etc

Postby dattohoe » Mon Jul 05, 2004 11:09 am

hey guys, we are doing a rwd convo of a 3sgte into a corolla ke25, have got the motor+w55+bellhousing to suit both.
we have not assembled it yet but apparently there is some machining to do on the bell housing to make the clutch engage properly? or possibly a spacer behind the thrust bearing or somthing?
Really dont no what im doing with the part of the convo, havnt done it before and have just heard that there will be problems and some modification is nessecary.
anyone no anything about what needs to be done?

There was a thread about this a while ago have u done a search failing that, try http://www.conversioncomp.co.nz/products.html?sku=62 they make conversion kits as the they name implies and buying a pre made clutch and bellhousing kit would be less hassle than trying to get everything to line up, kinda pricey though!

good luck
The out of order of EFI it seems, don't you think? is, condition changes, whether which kind of, but don't you think? after removing the screw of the throttle?

check out the distance that the input shaft sticks out. its about 10mm too short. so just mill off about 10mm off the end of the bellhousing. most toyota bellhousing have plenty of meat on them so there is some material that can be removed without weakening the housing.
