i'll back that.
Never ever adjust the handbrake cable on any vehicle unless it has been previously tightened by someone else.
The correct method on drum brakes is to adjust the rear brakes themselves, as this will also adjust the handbrake.
With disc brakes the cable should only be adjusted to the point when the lever on the caliper sits on its stop and there is minimal slack in the cable.
If this is the case then you will have to remove the calipers from the rear discs. Wind the piston back a few turns, refit calipers and pump brake pedal hard about 20 times. Do NOT pull the handbrake lever untill you have pumped the pedal
