Any tyre experts here?

Whats the widest low profile tyre I can fit on a 16 by 8 inch rim? Can anyone give me any sizes. I was thinking of going for a 245/40or50/16 but does anyone even make them?

tyre

Its going to depend on what its going on as you have to stay within 5% of the original overall diameter.
I will check a tyre chart I have at work tomorrow and let you know
What is your current size?
As for 245 you might be pushing it but i will check
I run 245/50/16 and the diameter is big but its on a 5 series bmw running 9inch rims on the rear 8 inch on the front with 225/55's so you would need to be in the 40 series tyres most likely but as I say depends what you put them on.

Hey dude ,
You can go 245/45r16 if you like available in kumho and hankook tyres and maybe some others i also took a stab and guessed you came out on 205/60r15 tyres originally which means that the size i quoted you on is the exact same rolling diameter. :D
Let me know if you want them and i may be able to swing ya a deal if you like 8)

A 245/50R16 will fit on an 8" rim comfortably, as I have these on the back of my 'dore. 265/50R16 will also fit!

Yes but the 265/50r16 is no-where near the rolling diameter he requires and wood most likely rub and give incorrect speedo readings and could also change the gearing so wood'nt be suited to a wagon. :D
