(1) when acclerating i find that she's good til about 3000 - 4500 rpm. with in that range theres a HUGE flat spot. any ideas?

and

(2) Compared to my 1988 fxgt, my 92 fx is not as perky. what can be done / who should i see?

Sometimes you buy a car... and it's poked. If you've done all the routine maintenance stuff (plugs, leads etc) and you're still not getting what you want, go to a mechanic and get a compression test etc. The toyota dohcs in the g heads are made to be revved higher, with a (slight) decrease in lowend performance. If you had an old f head engine you would have noticed a little more lowend torque. Dunno :?

I definately recommend using the search function on the forum, heaps of stuff bin written about refreshing tired engines/basic performance mods etc.
