is it me or does home tinting look purplish?? Other than black from professional places?

couple of mates have done their own and have turned put pretty avaerage ay, i got mine done at solace tint a car in manukau auckland (now just called tint a car) cost $160 so was happy as look mint as just for black 35% all round, that was cause i had a dicount coupon, but most places are cheap during winter like $180-200 cause they not as busy so thats when i advise to get them done

are the window tints you get from repco the same as many professions use apart from the reenforcement material? hmmm, thinking of mastering some tricks of the trade in window tinting and quit my job.

i do my own, and have done on all my cars.... done the corolla about 6 times at last count

just used ripco stuff, its a piece of cake. easiest way is to remove all the windows. have yet to attempt a rear window yet...

The thing is most cars dont have unboltable rear quaterlight windows like rollers do.. makes it a difficult job to take out.

I did my old FXGT with ricepro tints that way tho, makes it a shedload easier, and also you can clean the glass alot easier

use repco tint , coems up int az!! just do it on a nice sunny day with no wind wround or u will get dust in the tint. And remember to read the instructions cos if u dont u will F it up

this is true

i've found that if you can remove the plastic trimmings around the window you can work to the black surround that quite a few (mostly on older cars) rear quarterlight windows have. Meaning that you can tint well with the window still in place

thats the easiest way ive found to combat that problem......

the rollas are good to work with but finding where all the bolts are to gte the window out is a $&#$% pain in the arse and to this date, i still ahven't figured out. :roll:

Now that is not a bad idea! cos the plastic trimmings do cover a slight amount of glass do they not (in somecars) ? THat way if the cut was a little rough its be easy to hide

and less "peel" once thev been in for a while

I got mine done on my old starlet at Tint Magic in Porirua. They even put on a sticker saying that its 35% legal, so you will never get pulled up at a wof with them on...

i got mine done for free

sort of

swapped them with a women that comesinto work that does them

im very happy with them 35% all round

CHOICE

i did my old cars my self meh average the more u do the better u get

(im talkingabout the tints here )

Auckland is a dive

MR2's are quite easy to do, I did mine myself nearly 3 years ago, and they look fine...was a bit windy so there is a little bit of grit in there, but I'm probably gonna redo em anyway.

The rear quarter windows are a piece of piss in MR2's, just take off the plastic surround, and you've got a bit to work with. The rear window looks like a pain in the ass, but as long as you do it in strips its not all that bad.
