3TGTE missing ignition pulse - wont start

Postby craufurd » Wed Jul 21, 2004 6:53 pm

I talked to Brendan at reber today, hes doing all the auto electrical work. Anyway, he is not getting an injection pulse. He has spark, tps, afm signal.
Is there some tricky bit to the wiring that is cutting the injectors? He says the injector transistor is not switching. He hasn't plugged in any emissions stuff, although I believe the engine can run without this. He has ecu and knock control wired up. He has separated the ta63 loom and is running the engine part in parallel with the ke70 one. Is there any help you can give me here? Brendan says it could be as easy as putting some wire to ground or on a variable resistor etc. He also thinks maybe the ingnitor producing an injection pulse that is too weak Its all so foreign to me, I got no idea about ign.

From memory the computer has no control over the timing and so will need some sort of RPM signal to trigger it. The 2T EFI's needed a signal from the coil negative similar to a rev counter.
