Internet Explorer or Netscape

Im designing a website and have been having some minor issues.

Discovered its because im using Netscape, which treats certain code differently to Internet Explorer. Because of this I want to know how many of you actually use Netscape?

heh had the same issues for my pages . I use netscape but came to the conclusion that most people seemed to use IE.

If all you're looking for is stats the IME you typically you will see about 90% for all versions of Internet Explorer, 5% Netscape, 5% other.

I absolutely hate both....use sumfin different there's heaps better browsers out there.

but to get more to the point here........

use a generalised code when coding the site cuz i've run into the same problem before myself. sum codes work with both and sum don't.

The code in particular that I was having problems with was scrollbars.

If you give a frame scrolling ability (scrolling=yes) and it doesn't need to scroll IE will leave a blanked out scrollbar on the screen where as Netscape will not display a scrollbar unless it needs one.

Makes aligning frames of different sizes a pain. Yay for making pages with only notepad : /

i hate coding in notepad it takes bloody ages.....use dreamweaver ...does all the coding for you

That's because nutscrape doesn't respond to scrolling=yes, it still behaves like scrolling=auto which is the default.

I've always used it. Its how I learnt and I guess old habits die hard. Haven't really considered using anything else.

That's right. That's what I was saying. I've had to change my page to tables instead of frames as a result. Oh well.

i prefer mozilla over the others has a good javascript tool to tell u whats goin wrong

dreamweaver is a bitch too it tends to want to change the code all the <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=time&v=56">time</a>, i prefer homesite

try using style sheets for ur layout too makes the code a lot cleaner

isnt that ntsearch some sort of adware? we have it at home and pop-upps galore dont know how to get rid of it
