Dash port on 4AGE

Well, dash port... the thing that located under the trottle linkage on the 4AGE.. what are they? what do they do? it seem like there is an adjustment srew for them.
when the car is started, from the vaccum in the manifold, it make the dash port to suck in...
can anyone tell me what they for?

dont know exactly what you mean but i can guess.
They have a bit called a dash pot on the throttle. It has vacuum on it and when the throttle opens it spring out. When the throttle snaps shut it is slow to return and stops the throttle plate from smacking closed to prevent damage to it.

ahh yes, Dash pot.. not port.
I think that's how they work, but just wanna know what they do. Another guess is that, I think they "slow" down the butterfly in the trottle body when you back off the trottle?.. so that your car engine won't stall??... from sudden lost of air supply for the engine?

They seem a bit useless. I have removed it off my car and noticed zero difference. Technically it should slow the throttle the last 5mm before it closes, but it doesn't seem to touch it. It also seems to shrink when you apply throttle, rather than grow? I thought it should have grown. Then shrink when the throttle hits it.
