Multi colored wires with pin adaptor on the end...

Postby HZRDIZ » Wed Aug 04, 2004 5:41 pm

I found a bunch of wires with a pin (female i think) connector on the end, by my passenger seat coming out from the back of the dash. Originally I thought it mite be set up for an amp as it has all the colors that speaker wires have. But im not too sure as when I tried to hook this up to an amp my car wouldnt start. So an insight as to what this mite be or if it should even be plugged into something?

The only real way to find out would be to remove the center console/stereo surround and try to find out what it's going into, possibly the previous owner in Japan had an S-AFC or similar hooked up but sold the car and left the wiring harness intact? but I'm only guessing here.

wires

Dont take this the wrong way but you shoul stop playing with your wiring !
That wiring is usually for an amp but if there is no amp it will have been looped in behind the dash.

Just count yourself lucky not to have damaged anything and that your car still goes.

Im all for people having a go at things but when it comes to electrics if you are unsure dont connect anything as ecu's and alternators etc do blow easilly and can take alot of time and money to diagnose and fix.
You get far better results running new wires directly from amp to spealers rather than using factory stuff.
