3T Help!

Postby lvn_mr2 » Thu Aug 05, 2004 9:05 pm

Can anyone tell me where the engine mounts are on the 3T-gteu? a pic would be great but anything. next thing is, what mods can be done to this engine to give it some more ponies? 160 seems a little low compared to 112 of a 4age.

lastly, is it as easy as just adding an IC to the lines? i can fabricate new pipes and stuff.

cheers!

im guessing the mounts are the same place as 2t etc. may even have a support rod.
Theres enless amounts ov things u can do 2 increase power. ive hurd 3t respond well 2 a new turbo coz those factory CT20's are shithouse. and just run an i/c inbetween turbo compressor outlet and the plenum chamber.

I THINK its map sensored so no a/f/m (i think)

Definitely does not have an MAP sensor. Mounts are the same as most T series, they do have quite a lot of potential but you need to be careful of pistons, injectors and it really needs an intercooler. The standard computer can be tweaked reasonable easily. If you do a search there are details all over the net.

ok two more questions.....are there only the two mounts on the engine? if so how hard is it to get a crossmember from say the 3tgte powered celica?

secondly do these bolt up to the t50 box?

What sort of car are you putting it in?
For the T50 box I think you need an ordinary T series flywheel/clutch/pressure plate, the 3T-GTE one is bigger and has a different clutch.

there are 2 engine mounts like purple beasty said a t50 bolts up with
a t series bell housing and possibly 2tgeu flywheel and clutch (not sure)
t50 wont last very long at all your better off using a w55,57,58 from ta63 celeca and supras

what shape celeca ar you planning on putting a 3t into ?
