I'd have to say rear wheel drive is more fun. Altho an alfa romeo 147 GTA would come pretty close....

well depands on what u trying to do.

If you have a family sedan then FF, unless they are Merc or BMW, if you have a sports stuff, then FR, don't bother with any 4wd stuff unless they are Subaru 4wd system, or understeer like hell...

Rear Drive! I've towed my racecar before with a front drive and its bad enough in the wet - let alone trying to get up a 45degree gravel hill to get to Waihi Beach race track - went through too many tyres, then a trans - so now i'm rear drive.

Always liked oversteer more than understeer anyways

Fwd gives a real pull, Especially when there is some boost behind it.

RWD all th way...........

All RWD vechicles are four wheel steer (4WS). Steering wheel for th front wheels and acclerator for th rear wheels nuff said!!!

Hmmm...me personally...RWD!! :D all the FWD's i have driven have scared me as i have had no control at the limit as u r screwed whether u back off or plant boot...either massive understeer or massive torque steer :( Now i know the limits of my Mr2 i can safely say i feel ALOT more confident and in control at the limit in my "2" than in my previous (read: FWD) car...and the "2" has TWICE the power and that famous 'Snap-oversteer'!!


End of the day, it would be VERY interesting to see 2 similar spec cars (one FWD and one RWD) with well sorted handling, and put it to the test...see which ones quicker/better...be VERY interesting...maybe at a track day at Manfield sum time perhaps? Any takers?? :D

im no sheep but..
RWD all the way. If u know what ure doin, a trip to the shop can turn into serious sideways fun....not that i drift in streets.....i live in the country.....

rwd are better towing vehicles (as muzzie sed) due to pushing a load over trying to pull it....
sniff sniff.. is that clutch..?

im not sure havent had a good go in a rwd car. my first cr was a mr2 escort 1600 sport i only ever pushed it hard round a corner once and spun out and nearly went in a ditch. driven my old mans ut heaps but never giving it 2 much snot in a corner as i donnt wanna spin out and crash as its not mine. but had a ae82 nearly inpossible to drive in wet wheel spin was rediculess bull dozed all the time. good in the dry. now i hav a ae101 gtz with sticky typers and lowerharder springs duno it that helps?wheel spins in wet but no way near my ae82 and feels controlable. had it bulldozeing but was easly controled. i raced grass karts for a few years they r rear wheel drive straight axel no diff. and i felt that was great for getting round corners so im going with rear wheel drive race and fwd street.

It depends on application, and also the driver...

But I mean I like going hard, and as hard as possible though the twisties in a FWD, as you don't have to be paranoid about it stepping out on you all the time....

Get a bit of oversteer, well easy to correct, opposite lock, throttle, pull you out anytime...

You can just choose your line and go for it...

Live axel RWD do get a bit more traction off the line, but I like FWD.

I also like RWD though, I have a corolla, and I like to drift, I'll probably build a starion drift car sometime...
