Headlights in ae101??????

Hey, quick ques on headlights in my ae101 trueno. They seem a little dull compared to my previous ride, is this because of the actual colour of the plastic or is it the bulb? Any recommendations for a bulb change and is it easy to do? Thanks

The headlight lenses are made from polycarbonate adn they degrade over time from sunlight etc so that could be the reason for your dull looking h/l.

Yip brighter bulbs are avail, youll be needing H4s (check that, there will be a similar code on the headlight bracket), they give a white/blue look. PM twstd if you want some or theres heaps on trademe.

Wax your headlights and they will look like new again. Takes time tho. Usually 20-30min each side if you want them perfect.

Hey event2, you might wanna check the spelling of Trueno in your signature

And I think you need to give your headlights a cut and polish, not a wax

Thanks for the help. I think I'll buy some bright bulbs, probably off trademe (about $25), hopefully it will brighten the vision at night

Do you just rub the headlight (outside) with the brasso? My headlights have a "frosted" yellow/orangey look to them, prob from the weather, etc. Will the brasso make it look better and clear it up?

Might have to try that. I suppose its like a cutting polish

the brasso didnt work to good for me.

i got some plastic polish from my old job, worked a treat i think mequirs or mothers make a plastic polish try that that works awesome,

brasso wont fix crazing that can be in the lens, it removes the fading caused by exposure to sunlight though

It works a treat, I did it for six years with myAE101. If you don't have brasso use Autosol, works the same. No need to get new bulbs for your car at $45.00 a set honest ... would Aunty Chelles lie to you

a good cut in polish gives back sum clearity, but i used a electric buffer aswell and brought them back to MINT condition. give that a try.
