Supra Manual Conversion.

Postby Silent Knight » Tue Aug 10, 2004 9:51 pm

Right so since I blew the damn auto box in the Supra again I might as well try a manual box for now and see how long that lasts me.

I've just got a cuple Q's about this:

1. Will a W55 shaft bolt straight on if I use a W55 box. Will I need anything else for this to fit?

2. Will a W55 box bolt straight onto the 1G-GTE? (The box did come out of a supra...prob a 1G-GE) I'm pretty sure it should use the same housing.

3. Will I need another flywheel or can I jst use the flexi plate on there at the moment?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hanré

The box will bolt up if it has the 1g bellhousing.
You will need a flywheel.
as well as that:
Driveshaft (auto one too short)
Clutch pedal setup- with line to slave cylinder
if you have abs, you may have issues with the abs ecu as I dont think the w55 came with a rear speed sensor.
Cant believe im still a member here.

You will need a manual flywheel, a spiggot bearing that goes on tha end of the crank, clutch backing plate from engine to gearbox, and output shaft ie driveshaft, you will also need pedals from a GA 70 supra and clutch master cylinder.
