need some help on diffs

Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Sat Aug 21, 2004 10:01 am

im looking for a diff for my sr coupe. i need one strong enough which will handle a 4age, but dont want to have to shorten one if possible.

my standard diff is about 1355 wide, but i could do with going out to about 1385mm. does anyone know off hand of any diffs which are this length? ive measured up quite a few cars in the wreckers and havent found much. townace diffs are 1440, so too long. what cars are likely to have shorter diffs??

could try an old tt140 or 141 corona diff.

those are T series and are strong enough to handle a 4age.

if u want a diff that u wont hav to worry about breaking axles or buggering spider-gears etc,, u wont be finding one that bolts straight in with no modds. Using a hilux or a ae86 would be a safe bet, even a liteace, but these u will have to shortened, and possibly hav the brake setup changed as well. There isnt really any way around it.
