need a new clutch coz it whines in 2nd gear WTF???

hey there
some ppl came and test frove my car and they are saying it needs a new clutch coz it whines in 2nd gear???? do clutches whine i dont think they do. what could it possibly be? they are most likely gana try lower the price coz of this. bearings maybe??

if it is the clutch how much would a new one cost. its a 3sge

that happened to me once, but it was the bearings. This was back in the day and i was 15, and the technical side of it was not there. I think back now, it whined when it was in gear, but neutral, nothing. I think now it was either spigot bearing, or a load taking bearing along the input shaft. I accually needed a new clutch in the end coz g/box oil leaked to the clutch disc. :x The input shaft accually end up collapsing before i got it fixed. WASENT CHEAP.

Your clutch will not whine! Some types of clutch can cause gearbox noise/whine but not a road car clutch. It will be bearings if anything. :D

They will just be trying to get you to lower your price, tell then where to stick it! :lol:

ok sweet ill tell them that if they get back to me. how much i guess its obviously cheaper to get some new bearings. but is it easy to just replace the bearings??

To replace any bearing inside the gearbox will be more expensive than replacing a clutch

id say prob just get a 2nd hand box. And new clutch if wearing low

id say to the person who wants it. its not the clutch go f**k yrself. u can have $100 off it. i think they are expecting to much for a 13 year old car
