ok i dont know wat im doing wrong then but it took less than 1.5 litres to fill back up :S, i drained it, filled with water, ran it to operating temp, drained it again, filled it up with 50:50 and yeah it took less than 1.5 litres, i mustnt be doing it rite :( im such a n00b,

-drain
-mix
-fill
-run to temp
-top up

thermostats take 10 secs to shut. thats prob why it fukd up on u

yeah when i did my coolant it was probably about the same as that, hmmm *wonders, what wrong with my radiator?

sounds like youv changed the coolant in the radiator ok. just not the rest of the engine! what hose did you disconnect to drain? the 20vs are a lil different from other engines, they have a thermo stat onthe bottom hose, so if you drop that it wont drain the engine

i just drained that little tap thingee at the bottom was i supposed to do the hoses as well?

and thanks kingcorrola thats probably the best advice ive had so far

not sure if this is true... but also have ur heater controls open to drain the water outa it aswell? *shrug*

yup should have heater on as well
to do it really well heres what you need:

1 tank with a tap in the bottom to attatch a hose to, fill this tank with your coolant mix. run the hose to the engine, depending on what hose does what.
run another hose from the outlet of the what ever you unplug, and run that to a catch tank.
that way you wont get any air locks, but if your coolant is quite dirty then you may want to use just water to do that as it gets priecy flushing rads with antifreeze!
