starting up sound

Postby minijrocks » Thu Sep 02, 2004 9:43 pm

Hi, i have a ae101 trueno. When i start up, it starts fine ect.. but when you trun the key, and it makes the 'starting' sound, it starts but as soon as it starts and you let the key back to the ign or whatever it is it makes the sound when you try "turning the car on when its going" sound for like a second. Its pretty embarresing but is it doing any damage? it doesn't happen everytime, but i have kinda noticed it more when the weather has been cold? i dont know, any ideas?

Sounds like either the centrifugal throwout mechanism on the starter motor is sticking, or the relay that sends to power to the starter is sticking...

If the cold weather affects it, it's probably the throwout mechanism.

i'm guessing it's your starter motor sticking....had the same problem in my truck and the starter motor burnt out and it took the altarnator and sum of the loom with it.

my fault probably cuz the alternator fuse went and i didn't replace but just bent the pins down so they make contact but then the fuse couldn't blow anymore so the $&#$% thing burn out.

in other words........GET IT FIXED ASAP
