Which game console is the best of them all ?

Being the hardcore gamer I am, I chose the Xbox (got it cheaper 'cos Bill's my uncle

) Which is best in your opinion ?

id say the nintendo 64 :-)

back in its day it kicked ass.
Cant go passed a multiplayer game of goldeneye or mariokart.
Im pretty impressed with the new titles coming out on PS2.
havent seen much of xbox yet, but ill be buying one soon due to its dvd playing abilties.
I still have a Super nintendo with classics such as killer instinct and mortal kombat.
I guess it depends on what ya want, but i would say that nintendo would be my favourite games console.
And if it wasnt for nintendo we wouldnt have sony playstations.

PS2 all the way

Ok, so the X-box is technically more powerful, but at the end of the day, it comes down to the ability of the game developers, and I think playstation is stronger in that respect. Just compare the graphics of "Project gotham racing" (x-box) and "Gran turismo 3" (ps2). GT3 looks far better, and its a lot more fun too

After playing Halo for a few hours on XBox I get the impression that it is a better console, with the HD and all... But converting hardcore PS users to throw away all their games and convert to XBox is gonna be a challenge for Microsoft. Really... who could give up the Gran Turismo series?

Ive read that alot of the PS2 games will be coming to Xbox soonish (not GT3 though

) but Gta 3

and alot of the new games are being made for all the consoles.

PS2 is the best. It's the games that count and GT3 is the best racing game on any console and that basically swings it for me.

As for XBox CD/DVD playback. PS2 has this standard anyway along with digital audio output and component video output, some games even have dolby digital sound. As for the Xbox HDD this can be purchased for the PS2.

For those curious, currently PS2 has 335 games out, xbox has 172, and gamecube 121. Games that are going to be released: gamecube 172, PS2 290, Xbox 305. So Xbox will have more than PS2...
Xbox also has a broadband modem and 8GB hard disk from factory (gotta buy PS2's seperately)
There are some games on PS2 that are definitly better than some on Xbox but only because of the effort gone into them (GT3)

I bought Splinter Cell a couple of weeks ago and damn! its good (hard too) they reckon its good for 40 hours of gameplay !

both the ps2 and xbox can be chipped
but hte Xbox is better bcoz u can put a 80gb + hdd in it and copy those um backups on to it

and thats all good IMO, u can ftp strait to it from ya pc once setup right as well.

Yep, its probably the best game I have, better than halo (if you like this type of game) the lighting is amazing and Ive heard if you have dolby 5.1 its twice as good. Its really hard in parts but I never chucked the controller once (smashed my ps1 one once :oops:

) its alot like MGS on ps1 but with photorealistic graphics and a more serious storyline.
