The not changing into 4th until warm is normal. Most modern cars do it, mores revs in third so motor warms up quicker.

Not sure about the whine though, but I wouldnt worry bout the 4th :)

Fine :) Just got full tints applied to it yesterday. Now I'm on the look out for some better mags for it. And I'm in the process of wiring a new window switch for the passenger side since both driver and passenger door switches have gone kaput

Still gotta find out whats making it run on after the ignition has been switched off though.

Doesn't sound to healthy when it does that.

Bugger, hope it's not the same on the Ace, auto choke hard to get at :|

I'll have to pull a plug or two tomorrow and see what I can find. And check with Mr. Revhead see what the correct plug heat range should be.

Yes. That i have done.

Rang the engine rebuilders and they said it's idling too high. Id have thought 600rpm in drive would be about right.

If wining take it to a gearbox specialist and have the gearbox serviced (ie. oil flush and filters etc, not just a couple of litres of new oil).

Correct plugs and idle speed should be on a label in engine bay somewhere.

Carbon buildup on the top of the pistons is a leading cause of run-on..

There's probably some wynn's treatment that will sort it out :)

Hope thats not it, it was rebuilt 30,000km ago. So I'd have thought it must be something simple.

might go back and see them, even if the thing is 10,000km over the warranty period.
