Good bearings for performance 4age?

Postby ChaosAD » Mon Sep 06, 2004 8:32 pm

Hi, what are some good bigend and main bearings for a worked 4age? it has a 20v bottem end and will be making about 170Hp at the fly.

I was going to get some trd bearings off mr revhead but he doesnt have any bigends and I cant wait 3 weeks for them to arrive.

Are ACL any good? or would u guys recommend another brand. and who could I get some from at a good price?

Um, the stock bearings should be fine for that. I don't know if the 20V 4AGE and the 4AGZE share the same bearings, but a number of peope here are running well in excess of 200HP on the stock 4AGZE bottom end.

You'd be wanting some copper/lead type bearings or similar.
Clevite 99's work well if you can get a set or two as you might need to get two sets to get the clearances you want & you will probably have to match them up out of a catalogue. Give Segedins a call they'll probably have something in stock.

Ive got my eye on a set of TRD bearings, however Mr revhead told me that toyota dont have any trd 20v bigends in stock. Does anyone know where I can get some without having to wait 3 weeks?

Acl's will be sweet if you can get them in 780 material which is the same as we use on our race motor's without any problems.

I supply all of my customers who build big HP turbo 4AG's with ACL bearing. They are well priced and you can pick the up from most parts shops. I also do FORGED PISTONS for the ZE & 20v, for around $1400 inc

As opposed to the stock forged pistons supplied with the ZE engine?

Yes. Pistons dont last for ever buddie.
And these are far superior to standard. These are true performance pistons designed for race applications. They're made by ross racing pistons in USA. Low silicon etc etc.

As for the 20v forged pistons, they lower the comp ratio to 8.5:1
So you can feed lots of boost into that bad boy, once you've made a custom phlenum!
