http://www.c-one.co.jp/C-ONEPARTS/index_parts.html

in this site, page, you will see products, I want to know what certain things do or would do

so if anyone there can give me feedback,d etails feedback that would be great

some of them don’t seem to have any apparently effects, but that’s because I have never heard of them or been told what they do, its in Japanese and I cant read Japanese, but im sure someone here, would be able to ell me what they do, below is a list of the products I want to know what things they do. I have a st205 standard, with a 3 inch exhaust hks, that’s it.

List:
Engine cooling panel
Sports engine mount
Exhaust manifold – what would this do if I put it in a standard gt4, what difference would it make.
Light flywheel – what effects does a light fly wheel have apart from lightening the car
Sports diff cushion

And in the other chassis and suwspension parts, what things do those do

Thanks

This directs air to go through the radiator. well more than not having it there and escaping over it

mmmmmmmmmmm MKIII

Sports engine mount

Would most likely help aviod axle tramping in some cases.

Exhaust manifold – what would this do if I put it in a standard gt4, what difference would it make.

free-er flowing exhaust gasses, less restriction in the higher RPM range.

Light flywheel – what effects does a light fly wheel have apart from lightening the car

less rotational mass, quicker revving and all that

Sports diff cushion

looks just like a better mount. might be good... cant see the stock one lasting toooooo long under constant abuse.

cool

that was quick but more detialed questions from me:)

the manifold, does that give you more boost as its free-er? economy? is it more top end of bottom end? would it be better than stock?

so fly wheel would make your car rev up faster and free-er? mroe power?
the cooling panel, is there much difference?

axl tramping, how do i know if i get axle tramping?

also in my gt4
if i accelerate hard, from first, then to second, its not very smooth to second, but all the other gears are fine, but when i red line it on first and into second, i almost feel this knock and then it accelerates hard, something hitting someting feeling....is this normal when accelerating very very hard?

I'd have to say the radiator cooling panel is a waste of money given that the bonnet has rubber seals that seal to the radiator support. Leakage of air is IMHO minimal.

Axle tramping isn't much of a 4wd problem. Stiffer engine mounts mean engine movement is minimised. One benefit is an improved gearchange as the cables don't move so much.

If you get a knock changing gear cllimb under the car and check the rubber block at the rear of the diff. This fails on all GT-Fours and allows diff movement. You'll see big cracks in the rubber. If cracked, remove it and get it redone in *solid* urethane at Autolign Mt Wellington.

The C-One page doen't say if the manifold is for the CT20B or something else. If replaceing the manifold you'd be silly to stick with a CT20B.

The flywheel (which I have) basically just allows the engine to accelerate quicker. You don't get more power as such but the engine spins more freely.

The most interesting thing for me is the ST205 rear muffler, which is actually nicely styled. Does anyone know of a C-One dealer in NZ who isn't into price scalping?

Otherwise anywhere to order from Japan? The list price for the rear muffler with pipe over the rear axle is $700 which isn't too horrific considering the cost of a decent bodge exhaust in NZ.

To replace the fly wheel, how easy is it to replace the fly wheel?
I mean how many hours of labour?
Is it as hard as replacing the clutch on a st205?

and the manifold is only worth it if you replace turbo?

Well the clutch is bolted to the flywheel, so it is harder than doing the clutch. Also the flywheel is balanced with the engine, so ideally you fit a lightweight flywheel when you have the engine disassembled.

The ST205 manifold is pretty good flowing. If you replaced the manifold and used the stock turbo then I think it is a waste of money.

The website states the manifold is for the standard turbine (ie. CT20B). $1900 is a lot of money for a shiny manifold.

So its pretty much a waste of time to get a light fly wheel until I am willing to disassemble my engine, and re balance them too? Or maybe at the same time get forged pistons??

Is that correct?
