noisy dizzy - silvertop

Postby strap-on » Thu Sep 09, 2004 10:48 pm

ok well i went all out to fix my leaking plenum chamber, whichwas atributing to the whirring sound comming from under my hood, and its much betetr now, ( not to mention better throttle response so i must have had a leak or two)

neways the whiring noise is now my dizzy is this anythignt o be worried bout cos the car hasnt always done it, does it need a new one or should i just pull the old one apart and give it a good clean?

its just all these random sounds are starting to annoy the bejesus out of me ( im also gonna get a new vvt pully when i can afford)

If it is similar to a 3S-GE one you can probably just replace the bearing and seal.

na I was doing another dizzy conversion so you can mount the dizzy on the front off the exhaust cam gear for use in a ae8*. When you do this you gotta replace the brass bush on the front with a bearing while doing this I noticed the other bearing was stuffed aswell so I replaced it it made no noise. But this bearing will probly be your problem its pretty straight forward to replace just pull your dizzy appart and have a look
