ae85 diff head in ke35 housing

Postby crispy'86 » Sun Sep 12, 2004 7:16 pm

done a search and came up with nothing. Can i put the head and axles from an ae85 into my housing on my ke35, i am more then aware i may have to machine splines and shorten the axles. I've got 3 heads and 2 sets of axles, already measured the axles from the '85 they are 23mm longer than 35 but haven't compared the diff heads for bolt up yet. Could i put them in with a bit of machining, my diff can't handle the power change from 3k-2tb-2tg been a bit sad for a while but now it's driving me mad

probably easier to swap the whole differential and the housing/big drum brakes over while your at it, saves you machining parts to try make them fit; pluss if you swap the whole ae85 rear end you'll have more rear track so the wheels will stick out further

I'm not swapping a whole housing over just for the work involved, got an engineer at back of work that looks after us. It can be done yes or no????
