Celica camber adjustment?

My st-182 has non adjustable front camber so I was wondering if I can possibly use st-162 or st-185 camber adjusting cams that go in the strut bolt holes. If not are there any aftermarket ones available?... Dont want to have to change struts etc.

It's needed cause of lowering springs and slight chasis damage stuffing up the alignment

the st18# series all have the same bolts. no camber plate or anything.
all st16# use the same aswell, but they are the same as the 15mm one on the ae101 (ae101 has plenty of adjustment)

the st18# is 22mm dia, you could see if you can get another bolt with a smaller diameter (thats if your after more negative) but youd want to check with your aligmnet guys to confirm that is a suitable way for that car

I just went and measured it... the bolts are 17mm diameter

From the pics that I have of a st162 I dont think a straight swap over of the bolts etc will work cause the adjusting cam is hard up against the steering knuckle and I've got no gap to put it in there... possibly I could put it outside between the bolt and strut bracket.

The ST162 adjustment cams are part of the hub, not the shock. Can't be swapped.

I have camber bolts at the rear of my ST205. These provided the required adjustment.

The camber bolts are Toyota parts but are not listed in the EPC for the ST205. I found them by taking the normal full size bolt and searching the EPC to see what models it is used on. I believe it is used on another car that also lists all the matching camber bolts (1999+ Celica?).

yeah im happy to do some looking, but were talking about the front here arnt we? the st205 front is s/s so its totally different from the st183
and the bolts that hold the strut to the hub are the ones normally changed for camber, and they are listed as 22mm dia.. and i cant see any cams there.... think ill have a word to a techie here and see where the camber adjustment is on these

the actual diameter of the treaded part of the bolt and the strut/hub hole is 17mm but the bolt head fits a 22mm socket if that's what you mean

I had a look on my EPC and the st16# definately won't work cause the hub assembly is recessed to allow for the cam thing. Unfortunely my EPC don't only goes up to about '93 though

There is no camber adjustment in superstrut suspension (hence my camber plates).

I was refering to the rear, where I believe camber plates are not required as camber bolts are available (hidden in the EPC).

ok it could be 17mm.. the epc tells me 22mm but it doesnt tell me what that relates too... but from the parts number it looks like a 17mm shaft.

the st205 has the same bolts in the rear as the ae101 levin/trueno has in the front (for future reference )

as for the st182 front... im looking into it......

theres a few other toyotas that list the same bolt as the st182, they also list other options... so it could be one of those.

when you measured the bolt in your car did you measure the thread or the shaft of the bolt? its the shaft that will be different. thats the measuremnt youll need to know to determine the replacment bolt size

looks like some camrys, and the harrier have what you need. be around $10 per bolt

Something like that would be good GT4 20, wish there was a better photo of those though, well I can get OEM for cheaper anyway
