4age/ze Injector voltage

does anyone know what voltage the 4age/ze injectors run at?

Not too msure what you mean?

They all have 12V to them and earth through the ECU,

BUT some have a resistor in line with them an that depands on the model.

thats pretty much the info i was after.
I thought they ran at a lower voltage of like two volts or something.
any idea which models ran the resistor?
its an early blue top ae86 loom and comp.

I think that model did run the resistor.

Mike your talking about resistance measured in ohms. The bigports are 1 ohm injectors whereas all 20 valves and the smallport are 2 ohm. I have no idea as to what the ZE injectors are however I suspect that they are the same as the NA engines depending on wither or not they are big or smallport.

im gonna run an extra injector on a car and was just checking if i could switch 12v through it or if i had to run a resistor and drop it to something else.

You can't run 12 volts straight to an injector. Injectors are switched on and off very fast and they require an on/ off pulsating current. If you go over 90% injector duty cycle for any period of time the injector heats up and you burn out the coils, resulting in an injector stuck on. As well as some form of high speed oscillating switch you'll need some form of flyback circutry, not all that easy to construct however Jaycar now have a micro that will do the trick.

i'd heard that about the %90 but wanst sure of what period i.e. 1sec or 2min.
any more info on that micro?
