screwed up. please help

Postby IH8TEC » Sat Sep 18, 2004 2:48 pm

ok, now this has only been happening after the toy/hon 2 drag day. when i put my foot down, and it's say anywhere about 3000rpm. the car pulls to the right, but the steering wheel goes to the left. then back off the throttle, and the steerign wheel jerks back to a straight line, it's pretty dangerous, as the faster i'm going the worse it gets, sometimes it will pull to the left, and the steering wheel will go to the right.

when ruising around a long left corner on the highway for example, put my foot down, and the car suddenly jerks off to the other side of the road.

now someone said it could be an engine mount, so i tried looking but couldn't really tell if one was stuff, apart from pullign up the handbrake, put a bit of load on it, and there was a clicking noise by the back gearbox mount,

what i want to know is, could that cause it, or what other things could it be. i need to fix this asap, it's just getting dangerous.

cheers
brendon

(if only it was torque steer, haha)

Do you have superstrut?
If you do then more than likely one or more of the joints are worn out.
Your description of handling probs sounds just like driving a Levin/trueno with worn superstrut.
Talk to Mr Revhead if you need new bits for your car.

Either GO IMMEDIATELY to a suspension place or jack up the front end and give everything a "jiggle" :D. One or more bushes or joints are no longer functioning, or maybe an engine mount, but at a guess it's suspension related.

If you can't find the problem, seek professional help before you kill yourself - or somebody else. Your car is no longer warrantable (i.e. the WoF sticker is now worthless) - if a cop sees you car on the road moving erratically, you might me lucky that he only pink stickers you...
