alternator upgrade

just wondering what can be done to upgrade the alternator on a 93 nz new 4a-fe? is there another one that will bolt up? looking for something to be able to run a reasonable sized stereo system, two amps, 1 sub, few tv's, etc... amp's won't be huge, but still reasonable.

any ideas?

Standard alternators should be alright in most cases. I've used to run my stereo fine on a factory 4AGE alternator and never had any issues.

I think you'll find that your 4Afe alt is probably capable of close to 80 amps.
Do you really need more power than that?

wasn't sure on what it was producing, so thought it might pay to look at upgrading, just incase i do go for a bigger system. thanks to what people have said, means i don't, and can focus on changing other things instead

just a quick note,
the alternaters in 4a-fe with an auto trans have a higher output current than manual box.

dont know if the rectifiers match tho..
