SuperCharged Camry

Postby 10k 20v » Fri Jun 25, 2004 8:55 pm

Does anyone on here know the layout of the supercharged camry.
Like supercharger make, where it sits and if you can fit intercooler.

I have my reasons but not ready to disclose my plans just yet.

Thanks, Ewan.

*Flashback of Autocar magazine article about 3 years ago*

I believe they are the same blower as used by the Americans on v6 Hiluxes. Same/similar engine of course. Maybe a US TRD blower?

Is this a reasonably recent (like 2001+) model? If so I believe it is a TRD USA bolt on s/c kit that is fitted at the factory. Might even be info on the TRD USA site, but from memory it sits on top of the engine and blows straight into the intake manifold (might even suck through a la 4agze)

They make a bolt on kit. No info regarding price. Would be mighty expensive. A custom setup would be definately be cheaper using an Eaton blower or something. Quite a few Eatons are used on 1UZs with ass kicking results.

That if I am not mistaken will be off a 1G-GZE, used in Cressidas or Crowns or something like that I think!

No thats the one that came out on the old RWD crowns etc.
It's off a 1GGZE engine which looks like a 4AGE but two cylinders longer.
Straight 6 not V6

We have supplied a number of the TRD Superchargers for V6. Mainly to Australia.
The price is around 5K as Revhead has stated.
I understand there are difficulties fitting this unit in a right hand drive car.
We are in regular contact with TRD USA so if you want more information just get in touch.
