What Clutch brand for my AE111 Levin

Postby Graphite » Thu Sep 23, 2004 11:10 am

My Clutch is getting a bit worn out, I have a BZ-G levin, should I go for a Geniune Toyota clutch or get some after market ones, also what brands are good, i've been told Daiken ones are good.

I don't give the car much of a thrashing really, so don't see the need for a heavy duty.

daiken has a good rep. its generally what we use when custy doesnt want genuine. id rate daiken at 2nd behind genuine

i know where you can get genuine at good prices too

If you want to go to a puck/button clutch, Clutch Systems can do you one of their custom made ones for a sharp price - If you want to see how good one of their clutches are, come to the drags on Sunday and watch my wife in the AW11 :-)

My Experience with clutch systems wasn't so good, back when i used to do up n12 turbo pulsars I bought a clutch kit from them, heavy duty and all, well if i ran over 10psi of boost it would slip in 4th gear, within a few days of installing it.
ended up getting a double diaphram one, that held better.

Considering most of the High HP Mitsi's in Christchurch run Clutch System clutches with no troubles (ie EnvyIt) Yours was probably a lemon...

TEE ARE DEE!!!! TEE ARE DEEEEE!!!!!! :D
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.
