AW11 front fans going at wrong time

Postby Kender » Mon Oct 04, 2004 10:05 am

Hi all,

My car overheated at a test day recently, and when I pulled into the pits the front fans were on. Now whenever I start the car the fans come on by themselves (even if the motor's stone cold), and after the car warms up the fans turn off!. This is just under normal round town driving. I'm hoping the fans stay on when racing!
Anyone experienced this before?

cheers

At a guess (ie. not based on experience) the sender unit for the fans is screwed. If you need more info on the test to check if its broken I can post up a copy of the section from my haynes manual.

This happened to me once, but my front fans never turned off. It was from taking out the air con. and not closing the switch thats in there somewhere by the accumulator. But since yours turns off again i dont think its this.
