One of your ancillary devices will be drawing current, first thing to check would be the alternator, it has a diode to stop current from bleeding off the battery, if that fails...

A good place to start but toyota alterners hardly ever give diode problems unless they have been flashed backwards. Would probably replace 1 to every 200 mitsi or nissan ones.

Most likely cause will be wrongly wired car alarm ,stereo or amp,
or,
a boot light, glove box light etc staying on.

yeah, I have the same problem too.
but then when I use the old battery it can last for 1 week.
The new battery if I don't run the car for 2 days, I can notice it sort off not enough power to start the engine.

I have had both my AW11 and my AE92 have exactly the same alternator failure that has seen them run the battery flat.

Although on the AW11 I wasted my money buying a new battery as well, damnit.

So I would repeat the first bit of advice, and have the alternator tested.

Charge the battery or jump it and see what the voltage at the battery is. If its reading under 13-14V then your alternator is poked

Not in the '84, that is an NA auto, My '87 is a 5 Sp 4AGZE.

I think I might take the alternator out and go and get it tested.
