Clutch slipping...

Well now I have finally got the supra back on the road. New motor is in and manual conversion etc.....

I have one problem though......My clutch is slipping badass. I have a new clutch and flywheel etc in there and took it for a test drive and she is badly slipping.

I can't see what is causing this at the moment. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing the clutch to slip? I do not want to drop the box again as I 've done so about 100 times now and I'm prepared to start paying someone money to sort it all out for me.....

Any good recommendations on who can fix it for me at a decent price?

I've run into this problem a couple of times, it was either the clutch slave cylinder piston not quite home on the recess on the clutch fork, a broken or incorrect pressure plate (since your clutch is new), grease on the clutch plate (but usually it burns off after a decent thrash), or, as in my case, the thrust bearing stay (the little metal clip that holds the thrust bearing to the clutch fork) had turned around during reassembly.. which didn't allow the plate to engage fully when I pushed the clutch.

Rah rah rah. Ideally, you're gonna have to pull the box either way.

To add to that, did you tourqe the bolts in a diagonal fashion? Like it says to? If you don't do it, the pressure plate can not be in the write position, making the clutch slip

Yea i bolted the pressure plate etc. on pretty tight and it all does fit right. It was going well before I changed engines around wich makes me think that it is the slave cylinder causing the problem cuz i doubt that griece or oil could have gotten on to the clutch plate.

I will see if I can find another slave cylinder and use that as testing.....hopefully that is all that will be wrong with it at this stage.
