Clutch engagement issues

My trd 3 puck brass button has started to act a little weird of late, seems to slip when it has a decent amount of load going 1st to 2nd....

also the point of engagement has seemed to have moved from dead on half way in pedal travel to closer to the top...


is this a master cylinder issue or is the clutch a POS?

try bleeding the clutch system - see if it has any effect on where it engages. if that doesn't do anything i'm lost

Alot of people don't realise that a clutch like this is not made for daily driving. :roll: They don't take well to being driven in stop start traffic or any slip while parking/reversing! 8O Although you can buy a heavy duty clutch to be driven daily so it could still be another problem. 8) Really depends on the material that it is made of.

3 puck clutches wear a lot faster than normal clutches, but try adjusting it to see if that helps the situation.

hydrolic clutches are self adjusting. Spose the only thing to do is try bleeding the clutch?... if that dont help, than gutted for you :(

my clutch is like that. i dunno if its aftermarket but it had been replaced recently before i brought it (so they told me :roll: ).
It goes all good, i dont think its slipping (what would happen if it is??).
it engages about 2/3rds of the way out and i do treat it pretty bad (ive done about 5000km since ive had the car and its still the same)

i wouldn't think it would be the clutch, Al. The one in my old starlet GT has done over 15k's and the bite point is higher, but it doesn't slip, and it has being abused, as well as the daily grind. Get your clutch bled and see how it goes.

Albeit the Gt has less power, but the clutch won't be rated as high either
