Trueno exhaust help

Hey, I got a quote for a catback system from Pittstop (2 1/4 system) for around $500. Should I do the cat back or just get a stainless bling muffler and weld it on. Money is pretty tight and wouldn't mind a better sound for my ride.
Also I got an ae101 trueno, so would I need to buy two mufflers o can I just get 1, put it on one side and scrap the other? Would it sound good with just a bigger muffler or is it worth saving to get the cat back system?

hey i had my cat cut out and had 2.5inch straight through with mandrel bends put on and 1 rps muffler with 4inch tip hang'n out the right hand side i scrapped the twin exhaust set up and it sounded great and scored a few more poneys................... but purhapes put a reasonator in coz it was bloody loud hahah all up cost me bout 400,(i had mates rates)
