hi,

i recently went and took my standard ke70 to get a warrant knowing it was gonna fail and it did fail on a few things. i was wondering if anyone could tell me how easy or even how to fix some of the problems that it failed on:

- stop/brake lambs don't work (both, i suppose both bulbs are blown? :S)
- left tail + stop/brake lense faded + lost colour (new cover from wreckers?)
- left headlamp focus + aim buggered (mechanic said the bulb is probably the wrong size?)
- drivers seatbelt fraid a little bit (i suppose just get one from wreckers)
- passengers front seat not bolted in properly
- left door not opening (won't unlock/lock when closed but will unlock/lock when the door is open)
- right front brake binding
- front brake pads low (just get them replaced i guess)
- left front wheel bearings need adjusting (i don't fully get that, adjusted how?)
- left steering rack boot ripped
- front tyres rubbing on struts

yup so any help would be appreciated :D!

thanks

Get rid of it.
a ke70 is not worth forking out twice the worth on fixing the thing.

theres plenty of bundys out there who "wanna DX bro" and will pay good prices

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is secondhand seatbelts are a big no no now. And replacement belt needs to be a web clamping type.

In my opinion, the only really costly bits in that lot is a new seatbelt (must be new), rack boot (still only like 15-20 bucks and possibly a new wheel bearing (40-60ish)
the door probably just needs a looking at- maybe dissasemble and lots of wd40.
sometimes wheel bearings can be tightened, depending on the setup- not sure for yours sorry.
The light sounds like it is missaligned?if so an easy fix, if it needs a new bulb thats only like $15, or go to the wreckers for cheeper.
depending how much you can do yourself its all pretty easy stuff, I wouldnt sell the car over it.

oh- and the front wheels on the struts. Have you got aftermarket mags or struts?. That also may cost a bit.

is it the wheels, or the tyres?. 175 aint wide, but occasionally ive seen them rub the struts on cars that only ran 155's

Seatbelts can be pricey - I had both in my 944 failed for being scraggly around the edges - they need to be new and installed by a pro - according to the wof guy. Cost me $480 for the mobile guy to come and sort it out (they werent OEM belts)

I dunno about adjusting ke70 w/b - get new ones.

wheelbearings- just remove the wheel and dust cap and re-tighten the nut but not to tight you want to tighten it so it just puts alittle pressure on the bearing not to much you still want it to free spin all your doing is taking up the slack of the bearing.

rackboot- there only like $10 to buy but the expensive bit will be getting the wheel alignmet afterwards as you have to remove the tierod end and you will never get it perfect once you remove it with out a wheel alignment. unless you like going threw tyres i'd reccomend the alignment.

seatbelt- yes it does have to be replaced by a pro IF it was checked by a WOF place. if you do it before you go back in to another place they wont know and it wont be a problem (just make sure it is ok first) and no they dont have to be the web clamping type they only have to be what was use'd standard in that vehicle.

the binding of the brakes might be due to a sticking slide, piston or a warped disk??

as for the rest of it, it is pretty straight forward.

hope that helped??
