Which two ports do I need to connect to display the engine check lights? On my 3SGTE if it makes any difference.

How do I know which ones they are?

the underside of the diagnostics cap will have a diagram

turn the key to on and then put the paper clip in

[GT4 20]

If any fault codes do show up, you can either remove the ECU fuse for a few seconds or disconnect the -ve cable from the battery to clear them.

Thanks. I thought there was a diagram on the top, just thought I'd ask incase I was wrong.

Now heres a question I should have asked earlier. How do I know what is what?

Ok I tried it and it just kept flashing. Whats that mean?

if it just keeps flashing, I believe that means everything is A-OK

of course, if im wrong I'm sure some1 will correct me!

All fault codes are 2 digit numbers. It is possible for more than one fault code to be stored at a time.. Below is an example of how a check engine light would flash if codes 12 and 43 were stored. The "......" represent the length of time between the flashes and the "#" represents the flashes.

Once you take your time and study the check engine light, it is easy to read the fault codes.
Now, rather than put all the codes down here (there are 19 of them), count the numbers and let me knwow what they are and I'll confirm the diagnosis.

sorry to sound like a noob but do u put a paper clip in each of E1 and TE1 and connect that to what or am i completely wrong?
