Injectors?

Postby rollas22 » Fri Dec 10, 2004 12:54 pm

just got the Turbo 20v silvertop 4age running.

Still on factory injectors that are maxing out on 7500rpm, wanting a upgrade to larger more durable injectors... but what?

its running 200hp @ wheels on 8psi on standard injectors

also running a link v4

p.s. THIS CAR IS FORSALE

mr2 injectors = 440cc side feed
gen3 = 550cc side feeds

just dont expect side feeds to be cheap

On the subject of injectors/

Supra jap spec 2JZGTE
and
Supra USA spec 2JZGTE.

I remember a while ago there was a post about flow rates and differences between them.
I have searched but cannot find.

Does anyone know the spec's of these two?

Thanks
Matt

JDM are like 440 low and USDM are 550 high. I think, could have the impedances mixed up.

Yes you had the resistances mixed up.
I measured the JDM 440's at 13.2 ohms
and the USA 550's at 2.3 ohms.

Means that once got the car to the track and measured the old injectors that the guy bought with him that we had to run around and find some resistors.

I am going to flow test the 440's at work on our machine and see what they actually test at. I would like to test the 550's aswell but they are already in the car.

I wouldnt go believing toyota quoated facts too much.
Q4 had a set flow tested and ze injectors cam up over 400cc on std fuel pressure.
my 3tgt injectors which are supposed to be 295cc werent tested but on a link which we now suspect over runs injectors were pumping enough fuel to be 460ccs and still had plenty more in them.
For a safe easy swap get some 3sgte side feeds or late model jz series as i believe these may also be side feed and fairly large.

Thats why I thought it would be interesting to see how much they actually flowed.

The 295cc intectors in the 20 valve flow at 315 at 25 psi.
I run these injectors in an approx 205bhp NA 16 valve.
Are you sure your maxing the injectors at 7500 RPM? Sounds a little high in the rev range to be maxing out the injectors... which brings me to another question what do you call maxing out the injectors?

You also know you can increase the flow rate of the injectors sygnificantly by increasing the rail pressure?
The answer is Helmholtz!
