IE if i removed it and fitted a drop tank would it b legal? would this have to be added to my LVVC plate?

I've never heard of a structural fuel tank, but in saying that, I dont know a lot about fuel tanks regarding structures  But I know you will need a LVV cert for it

Wrong link there Dr X.

As long as there are no structural modifications to the car then a cert is NOT required.

It's the right link, part 2 of the pdf (i think, cannot check right now). Either way, you've posted the right link.

ive always believed they have to be certified,

and to pass certification

a fuel cell / drop tank must be seperated from the car cabin, ie a rear fire wall must be fabricated to enclose the boot etc,

im not sure how the guys with a fuel cell in the passenger footwell get along thou.

as for actual construction,
stainless is the way to go, make sure there are baffles inside it, other wise when you corner hard and all the fuel moves away from the pick up...........brrrrrrrrrrr

and think about how you want to run an intank or external type fuel pump, and your fuel sender guage
