hey guys, just wanna get the do's and donts of midmounting etc, just kinda long-term project planning if you will
First of all, is a "street legal mid-mount" an oxymoron?
Also how much structual modification has to be made to the chassis, Ive never really 'inspected' a midmount frame before, so am wondering how they compare to standard FR frame?
How strict are certifiers in terms of legalising such modification, and what are the structual cutting regualtions?
also if adapting from solid axle, how much of a prick would strut installation be? I know its been done (BOOSTD ke26 with mkIII supra IRS) but that was all custom made strut towers. Also would hubs have to be fabricated? or could i just souce a front cut and just adapt fwd box, driveshafts, hubs etc? But then ill prob have a different Stud pattern, and maybe wider track on the rear. :S
