Wheel bearings...

How hard are they to change? or should I just chuck it into a shop?

Just take it to the shop. You can do them your self, but they aren't woth the effort and aren't really that expensive to get done. You'll get the peace and mind of it been done properly too. (as long as you don't have a dodgy mechanic)

unless u have a hydraulic press at home than i doubt u can do it without damaging the bearing so the answer is no get a shop to do it 8)

I depends what car you have like my fwd trueno the bearing is part of the hub housing and is not repairable you have to replace the whole bearing housing which is easy to do no special tools required, could be another story if your car is rwd or the bearing can be replaced. Might help to say what make and model of car you have..

what are you on about?

ive done all 4 bearings on my ae111, just pop them all out, new ones in, greese them all up, whats this about replacing the housing? i never did that :) i just put a new bearing in.

On my car the hub is the outer race for the bearing, it might be different on your car. Does your car have super strut suspension??
