Brakes

Postby B ROWDY » Tue Dec 28, 2004 12:58 pm

Being a compulsive tail-gater (dont shoot me) I need super fly new brakes!!
:?
Being a SERA owner means I have no idea about anything like this! 8O

Does anyone know what will work with my car, I currently have gammy drums at the rear, and dodgy discs at the front!

I would like discs all round ( and pretty ones at that)
Help a PIRATE lover out!

pffft pirates

you need to get friendly with someone who knows cars.... get them to look at oyur car then say something like a cynos (do cynos have disc rears?) or a starlet maybe. to see if they will swap over easy. if i rememebr ill check the epc to see if hubs or bearings etc are the same.

then again if your brakes are in good working order they should be fine
time for new (good) pads and a brake bleed maybe?

or you coul djust obey the road rules and follow the 2 sec rule. fool

only 1 cynos ive ever seen has Rear Disc's and thats my Misses's Cynos B, with $&#$% up springs to... what do you call them....

those springs that are looser at the top and get tighter as they drop.... they were fitted with those anyway.

gt starlets have them, but they are even smaller than my misses :).

and preddy ones? do u mean cross drilled slotted?

No, then you'd glue sequins over your many windows

the best idea ould be to do as Mr Revhead said, and try find what other brakes can be adapted easily. That way, you can then use an equivalent aftermarket part..ie if Starlet brakes can fit, use the DBA slotted rotors, and uprated pads.

depends what you are after thou,
if you want some that work mean for your buck and dont want to modify anything or replce parts id say pull out your old pads and shoes send them to race brakes (sending them an old set makes it cheaper !!!) who will chop off ramaining pad and make you a new set of pads from their compound and attatch them to your backing plates and shoes again this along with some of their nice fluid and youll haul your arse up pretty quick, as for the bling look thou well you could paint ya calipers etc but other than that they will look exactly the same.

those are preddy brakes :)

2pot, crossed drilled, and slotted, judging from the size, they are for the rears, so no vents, however if they are on the front, or some cases the rear, you can have vented too ^_^.

for an ae111 you can get cross drilled, from bnt they are $318 for each rotor for the rear :). for the fronts you cant go with bnt, since they dont stock them :P.
