Are there many differences on thermostats on different engines? Different theards? Different signals?

More specifically I need a thermostat for a ae92 4agze. Can I use one from a 4age bluetop/redtop/20v or even a 4afe/5afe?

why not get the right one for the car?

all ae92 4age/ze thermostats are the same, i cant be bothered looking any further

I would just get a new one, they aren't very expensive and at least you know it's going ot work properly... In saying that though, I used a second hand one and it was fine :oops:

Just go down to repco or toyota and say give me a thermostat for an ae92 4agze.

Thread sorry. You know how it screws into the pipe so it has a thread. and some thermostats are open or closed circuit. i.e. the circuit closes to switch the fans or opens to switch the fans.

They are $70 from part master

I just want to know when I go hunting at pick-a-part

go to your local toyota dealer and ask for a 90916-03090
shouldnt cost u any more than about $32
or if you cant be bothered doing that i can supply

My bad lol I knew it wasn't a thermostat but when I ask people and showed it to them there like 'yea you need a new thermostat'. Anyway a FAN SWITCH. is there much difference on different cars?
