Panard Rod Bushes (Ae86)

Postby ~SlideWays~ » Thu Sep 11, 2003 2:11 pm

My brother replaced the bushes on either end of the panard rod (when he had an ae86) and he swears that it was a dramatic improvement.... only problem is that the Nolothane (sp) ones dont fit because the australian ae86 was different (was it an 85?)

So he had to order the TRD ones from japan and they are hell expensive, which brings me to my questions:

Are there any other options for quality replacement bushes?

Has anyone else replaced other suspension bushes in their ae86 and can recommend what to replace, short of doing them ALL!?

cheers

Ring Mossrax... they can make pretty nearly everything for everything. Also, they are all Harbour Capital Car Club guys there, so they will look after you.

They made nolathane engine and gearbox mounts (three in total) for my Swift GTi from scratch... for less than the price of getting *one* made up from some crowd in Hamilton.

Bringing up an old post.

I need to replace the rear bushes in the DX before next weekend. I have the panhard and sway bar sorted but having a few issues with the trailing arms.

Nolathane do not have a listting for the AE86 in their current catalogue, however an old catalogue lists 46060 as the part number, but is now an unknown part number in repcos system.

Have the options of superpros or noltecs as they do have listings, but cant get them cheap like i can the nolathanes.

So...Does anyone have anyidea of part numbers for nolathane trailing arm bushes? and availablity?

Cheers

At Targa this year, in the strlet with AE86 rear end, we replaced the standard trailing arms and bushes for some solid mount rose jointed arms after the 3 stages on prologue day. The difference in feel was unbelievable. From feeling like the body was constantly trying to twist away from the tyres to absolutely no movement - just went where it was pointed. Grip was the same - just felt a whole lot better. The panhard rod is solid rosejoints as well - pivoting on a bracket mounted to the centre of the back of the diff, sort of a Z.

ke70 - its my brothers car and he's in Morrinsville so you could have a look at it. It also has a link fom the top of the diff forward to above the driveshaft somewhere - can't remember how far - possibly in line with the front arms. PM sent with contact details.

i was under the impression a bell crank was only necessary when the car dosn't have upper trailing arms, although i have seen one in a p/port powered KE70 circuit car

got any pics of the set-up?

nolathane on AE86/85

Postby Xylotrope » Sun Feb 13, 2005 5:00 pm

I got my full car except the rear sway bar chassis mounts nolathaned at pedders ..

was a new car ...

rear is tight as now .. it steers properly too !

when you push the rear from the side it hardly moves ...

try that on standard .... anyone in the car will get seasick !
