Postby cr1mnl » Fri Jan 14, 2005 7:29 am

anyone on the forum thats located in auckland that can tune my car for cheap, or knows anyone that can do it? its a v4 link and I've got all the gears to tune via laptop except for wideband o2. Car is still running on default map that came from link and its way too rich.

The Link doesn't support WB02. Another of the many reasons you should have a baseline map created by someone who knows what they are doing on a dyno with a gas analyser.
2 person street tuning is possible. But it does take quite some time to get right as its very difficult to hold in a zone. During this tuning period you are more than likely causing damage to your engine, by either washing the bore or running it lean.
A better question would have been...." Take a look at my profile, I have a 3SGTE engine with these modifications, does anyone have a baseline map that would suit my car?" This would minimise your transitional tuning period and as such damage to your engine wether on the dyno or on the street.
If I were you however, unless your engine is worth next to nothing, I would get it properly dyno tuned by someone who knows what they are doing!
And you do know that the V4 doesn't do boost control that well. Your much better off upgrading to the v5 before you do anything else as you shift from a 6 * 16 to a 8 *20 map. Depending on how old your V4 is it should also give you IAT and a few other useful features.
The answer is Helmholtz!

cheers for that

I thought that with wideband 02 i could st tune it using the laptop to alter the maps when it starts to run rich.

So does anyone here have a 3sgte map for a relativley standard 3sgte?
Also I'm not using the link for boost control. just got external with a 14lb spring which will stay at 14lb not really keen to run anymore than that on standard internals with standard injectors.

Give Damian @ MC Racing / A1 Turbos a call. Pretty good pricing for tuning with his wideband setup and detlink. 094443489
