Fuel Sender - KE70

Hey, ive ot a problem with my fuel gauge, its doing weird and crazey things. I have pulled the fuel sender out of the tank, but need to know what the specifications are for the ohm readings. At the moment its jumping around the place as i move the float up and down and i think it should be a smooth increase and decrease (Ive never had to check one before, so if im doing it wrong, Please tell me!)If any one has a workshop manual thatd be great.
Or should I just get one from pick-a-part and try that?

these are the resistance readings you should get from the sender to earth.
(float) full position - 3 (plus or minus) 2.1 ohms
1/2 position - 32.5 (plus or minus) 4.8 ohms
empty position 110 (plus or minus) 7.7 ohms
you should check the security of the wires for the gauge curcuit also.
to test the gauge itself, disconnect the wire on the back of the gauge, (the one from the sender), and connect a wire from the terminal to earth, via a 3.4W bulb. Then turn the ignition switch on, and the bulb should light, and then start to flash after a few seconds. The gauge needle should aslo deflect. If not then its your gauge thats faulty, but chances are its the sender because they usually fail before the gauge does.
