engine o replace my 2e?

Postby Liloss » Wed Jan 19, 2005 5:56 pm

guys i need to replace my old 2e engine in my rolla. I know my ultimate would be a 4efte but dont really want to shell out that much on an engine. I wannt something with more power but something thats not going to cost the earth. My iea was a 4age, but would be required o fit a 4age into a E series engine bay? only any idea, if you have somehing better fill me in please.

cheers

what car is it?
80 series corollas are easiy to change between the e and a engines
the 90 series need a little welding

whats your budget?

It would be so much cheaper to sell your car and buy an AE82 FXGT especially if you wanted to convert your carbie setup to injection, otherwise see if someones selling a 2ete out of an ep71 you might get lucky and be able to pick one up for cheap and the best thing is that it will bolt straight in but if you really have to keep your car then save up for a 4efte which will be your best bang for buck.

Throw a 5efhe engine in it. Wont quite be up to the power of a stock 4age but they're a heap of fun. Ive got one in my spare EP71 and its great raping around the place in it.

2e-t's are pretty rare but do pop up occasionally. If you want a turbo engine just get a 4efte. If the EP71 has a bonnet vent then its most probably a turbo one although I have seen a carby one dressed up as a turbo one - can't see the point myself but there are some weirdos out there :D
