Inline pumps??

Postby rollas22 » Tue Feb 08, 2005 3:23 pm

Just wondering if anyone has heard of putting in a inline pump into your oil return line to pump the oil back into the sump to avoid smoking???

Where you can buy these from?

nah i rung up INFORMOTIVE in rotorua, the place who tuned my car. apparently my return line to the turbo is not on a steep enough angle due to the manifold design.
They recomend that i put in a small pump to pump the oil back into the sump, to stop the oil from accumulating in a certain area.

i wouldnt believe everything that infomotive says,
im not bagging them or putting their work down as ive had good tuning results from them, but an oil pump in the turbo return line wtf

the oil drain would have to be very restricted, below the oil line and trying to go uphill,

raise the turbo up if it sits to low,

Evil si said it all..... WHAT THE F&%K!
If you have a problem with your oil drain... then fix it!
Dont frig around with pumps and shit. Modify the manifold to move the turbo, it may seem like a lot of work but will be better in the long run.
If you do fit a pump, and for what ever reason it stops, youve just totally blocked your return line, and your turb aint gonna like that!

Do it once, and do it right!
If it doesn't fit, force it.
If it breaks it needed replacing anyway!

Yea it is because the turbo sits too low, will look into this further. Its not that bad, just wanted to know how to stop things, and wanted to know if that would be a good idea, but its not... so that solves that problem :)

how low does the turbo actually sit,
do you have any pics from under the car?

i thought mine sat low, the oil drain flange on the turbo was about 10mm higher than the sump line, and with a decent drain setup i had no problem at all
