timing for a blacktop using 96 fuel?

hey im jst wanting to no what would the the best degrees to set my blacktop engine which is runnig 96 fuel to gain the best performance from? im guessing its below factory stting as its designed for 100 octane? am i rite? ne help would b great!!

I run my at 7 or 8 degree's on 96. I have had a play and that seemed to be about the best.

Always ran Shell 96, but now I have a caltex card and get discount i've just changed. Don't expect there to be much difference between the brands though.

what timing would suit on 98 do you think?

We dont get 98 in the south island so i had never had much to do with it.

About th same i suppose. drop 2 degrees from 100 to 96, so i spose 1 deg from 100 to 98. How accurate can you get your timing though.

1 or 2 degree's depends on the anglt that you look at the marks.
