do i need a 4age coil?

hey, just wondering if i can run my 4age (bluetop) with the standard coil from the 3k engine or do i need to get a 4age coil? ive been told theres a plug that runs from the coil to the computer - do i need it?

yes you do need a 4age coil... the plug goes to the igniter on the 4age coil which is an integral part of the ignition system

damn....guess i better buy one then. does it matter what kind of 4age it comes off? or does it just have to be 16v? or any sort of 4age?

I'd say it would have to be a 16v one, because the 20v's have VVT, which I'm guessing would also adjust the timing curve once it kicks in.

just need to drag up an old thread...the plug im talking about is a round green one with two wires going to it. i was told the other day that its probably the negative/postive wires etc. is this correct or is it the one that goes to the ignitor like this ^guy^ says? got a feeling he's talking about a different plug to me.

what sort of ignitor will i need? one that goes with a particular coil? or just one to suit a 4age? if its specifically for a 4age, does it matter what type of 4age it comes off?
